Milestone Award

Awarded to members when they are personally involved in a key milestone in the history of the site and/or Community.

Prolific Author Awards

Awarded to authors based on the number of words in stories they have published in The Authors Haunt Library.  There are six levels of award in total:

Prolific Poet Awards

Awarded to authors based on the number of lines of poetry they have published in The Authors Haunt Library.  There are six levels of award in total:

Awarded to Community members based on the number of posts they make on the Community Forums.  There are six levels of award in total:

Donor Awards

Optional Award presented to members who donate any amount of money to The Authors Haunt.  The gold and silver leaves around the outside of the Award medal do not change, but the diamond-shaped stone changes colour each year.  Members may decide whether or not they want this Award as we recognise that some members prefer their donations to be anonymous.  Regardless, the amount donated will not be divulged when this Award is accepted.  Below you will find samples of all past and some future Donor Awards to help you to distinguish the different years:

Article Contributor Awards

Awarded to members who contribute their knowledge and experience to write articles for The Authors Haunt resource pages.  All Resource Contributor Award medals appear as light coloured crosses amidst darker coloured squares of the same colour.  Below you will find a listing of all the current Resource Contributor Awards:

Blogger Award

Awarded twice a year, in June and December, to members who have produced consistently informative or entertaining blog entries in the Community Blogs.  Members may nominate other members for this Award by PM'ing Rob, the Site Administrator.  He then forwards those names to the Advisory Committee who, along with their own suggestions, come up with a list of candidates for this Award.

Gallery Contributor Award

Awarded twice a year, in June and December, to members who have made a significant contribution to the Community Gallery.  Members may nominate other members for this Award by PM'ing Rob, the Site Administrator.  He then forwards those names to the Advisory Committee who, along with their own suggestions, come up with a list of candidates for this Award.

Reviewer Award

Awarded twice a year, in June and December, to members who have consistently shown support for authors by providing them with useful reviews and feedback.  Members may nominate other members for this Award by PM'ing Rob, the Site Administrator.  He then forwards those names to the Advisory Committee who, along with their own suggestions, come up with a list of candidates for this Award.

Staff Service Award

Awarded to all current staff members as an acknowledgement of their contribution to the site.  When a staff member resigns or retires, this medal is revoked and is usually replaced by the Past Staff Service Award.

Past Staff Service Award

Awarded to all past staff members, provided they have served as a staff member for at least 90 days and were not removed from the staff team due to gross misconduct or for any significant rule or ethics breach.

MAC Service Award

Awarded to all current members of the Management Advisory Committee, as an acknowledgement of their contribution to the site.  When a member leaves the Committee they have served on, this medal is revoked and is usually replaced by the Past Committee Service Award.

Past MAC Service Award

Awarded to all past members of the Management Advisory Committee, provided they have served on that Committee for at least 90 days and were not removed from the Committee due to gross misconduct or for any significant rule or ethics breach.

Long Service Award

A special staff award given to any staff member who serves in that position for a period of more than 12 consecutive months.

Voluntary Service Award

Awarded to all members and staff who provide assistance with one or more of the voluntary projects operating at The Authors Haunt.  This Award is given upon actual provision of voluntary assistance and not when members sign up as volunteers.

Special Assistance Award

A specially created Award given on rare occasions to members, and sometimes staff, who go above and beyond to provide special assistance to the staff or Administrator of The Authors Haunt.

Beta Testing Service Award

A special Award created to acknowledge those members who rendered valuable assistance prior to the opening of The Authors Haunt by assisting with beta testing for the site.  Any special beta testing assistance provided after the opening is acknowledged with the Special Assistance Award.

Cinquain Poetry Writing Project Participation Award

Haiku Poetry Writing Project Participation Award

Awarded to all members and authors who submit a poem that is accepted for publication in the Haiku Poetry Writing Project.  This medal is awarded only once regardless of the number of submissions made.

Letters Fiction Writing Project Participation Award

Awarded to all members and authors who submit a story that is accepted for publication in the Letters Fiction Writing Project.  This medal is awarded only once regardless of the number of submissions made.

Masnavi Poetry Writing Project Participation Award

Awarded to all members and authors who submit a poem that is accepted for publication in the Masnavi Poetry Writing Project.  This medal is awarded only once regardless of the number of submissions made.

Painting with Words Fiction Writing Project Participation Award

Awarded to all members and authors who submit a story that is accepted for publication in the Painting with Words Fiction Writing Project.  This medal is awarded only once regardless of the number of submissions made.

Passion Fiction Writing Project Participation Award

Awarded to all members and authors who submit a story that is accepted for publication in the Passion Fiction Writing Project.  This medal is awarded only once regardless of the number of submissions made.

Ruba'i Poetry Writing Project Participation Award

Awarded to all members and authors who submit a poem that is accepted for publication in the Ruba'i Poetry Writing Project.  This medal is awarded only once regardless of the number of submissions made.

Tanka Poetry Writing Project Participation Award

Awarded to all members and authors who submit a poem that is accepted for publication in the Tanka Poetry Writing Project.  This medal is awarded only once regardless of the number of submissions made.

Ya-Du Poetry Writing Project Participation Award

Awarded to all members and authors who submit a poem that is accepted for publication in the Ya-Du Poetry Writing Project.  This medal is awarded only once regardless of the number of submissions made.

Special Recognition Award

Special Award presented to all former members of The Hub Community, the predecessor to The Authors Haunt, who demonstrated continuing loyalty and support by joining The Authors Haunt.

Feedback Weekend Participation Award

Special Award presented to all members who participate in the feedback weekend, providing three good pieces of feedback for three different pieces of work by three different authors.
